The Begining…

Well, I guess here I go. I’m now a cliche, but at least I did it for a good reason. This is my first “blog” or “weblog” or whatever you want to call it (”collection of ramblings” seems to be fitting).

As some of you may know, I’m going to be traveling to the South Pole in a few days, in order to work on the IceCube particle physics project. My dad wants me to make a website so that everyone will know what I’m doing. So, here it is. I got it running.

Now, I’m going to bed.

Yes, YOU better keep this up daily or you will have a severe penalty to pay. I may need to come to the South Pole myself and give you what for.

AND you should have gone to bed long before 3:14 AM.

You are a growing developing boy and you need your sleep.

Jon, what an exciting trip! I bet that they aren’t concerned about the flu in the South Pole, but seriously did you have to get any special innoculations for this adventure? I am also wondering if you are a walking talking advertisement for Lands End or Eddie Bauer. What will the average tempature be? How many layers will you be wearing?
I am sure you will do well with exams, but best wishes anyway.

Jon, what kind of scientific activities are you doing down there? What will you be doing for x-mass? Any advice for someone who wants to do research but cannot get organized or motivation?
