Plugged back in!
First, I need to apologize to everyone who’s been checking my blog, looking for news of my trip. The last couple posts were put up just minutes ago. All of the activity in Christchurch left me pretty exhausted at the end of the day…
Anyway, I’m at the pole now, and the satellite is up, so I can finally read all of my e-mails and catch up on some work.
I’ll post soon, I promise.

We’re so glad you are safe and sound at the Pole! We were eagerly awaiting your recent posts.
We had a nice, if different Christmas, too, but Cathy and Robin are here now and were glad to hear your news, too.

Jon,
Finally after a week I have a chance on Laura’s computer with a connection. We are very happy you are safe at the Pole. We are on the way home. In Clarksville, Tenn. All has gone well, had a great time at the Beach. But we would have had a great time if you had been there. There were a couple days of really great “organized” waves. You would have had a great ride.
So how is the work going?
Mom is wondering if you got the planting done?
I will be putting this address up on the Carter site.

So where were you for the three days missing from your record? You might know your parents would want to know whre and what you were up to all the time. Nothing changes. I suspect that you are very busy and this being the reason for the missing days.
We are home, except for Laura, who is in Madison to celebrate the New Year.
A great and safe trip. The weather was really great and nothing to slow our travels. Missed you as said earlier and as Laura has also said in her posts to you.

Cousin Jon,
CONGRATULATIONS on all your escapades! Your adventures never cease to amaze us and we are thankful that you take the time to update your blog so we can check in on you. Hope you are having a great time down there at the “bottom” of the earth as 2006 has just begun. Know that you are in our prayers and we look forward to talking to you at the next Cartier reunion (if you are anywhere in the vicinity of our continent!)
